I’m Jennifer, and this is my blog chronicling my job search, rambles about life, and anything else that I can think of. Hope you enjoy! 🙂

    • Yes, I do. I live on the island of Oahu so Honolulu is like any other city (traffic’s bad, lot’s of people, malls, etc.), but there’s no place like it. Amid the tall buildings you see palm trees and the ocean haha. What you see on postcards/pictures of the beaches and Waikiki are pretty accurate: nice, blue water and white sand. I live in the country, about 30 minutes from Honolulu so we have the lush green mountains on our side of the island. And it’s cooler than in town. My description won’t do Hawaii justice until you see for yourself. 🙂

And don’t be jealous! Besides, everything’s probably cheaper where you live than here. 🙂 Where do you live?

      • That sounds amazing. I often make jokes to my mom that i just want to live in a shack on a beach in Hawaii and live a simple life. It really does look beautiful.

I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. Things are cheap (good living standard) but there are so many other problems here. And the scenery is not as beautiful as Hawaii 😛

Are there a lot of jobs in Hawaii?

      • South Africa?! Wow!! Well, we’re similar in terms of weather right? I have to ask: have you ever been on an African safari? (I want to do that one day).

Eh, there are jobs here but it’s the traditional ones like medicine, nursing, and teaching that are always in demand. Also, the hotel business, but that’s not a great way to make a living. How about in Johannesburg?

      • I have been on safaris. It is cool to see the animals in their natural habitat; they are way bigger than the ones in the zoo. Yea its pretty hot here.

So it’s mainly for the tourist sector? Yea; there are jobs here, but i really want to immigrate.

Do you surf or do any cool sports?

      • I thought all animals were the same size…haha! But yeah, Hawaii’s big on tourism (and the military). I don’t surf but I do like hiking (it’s not a sport but it’s a nice hobby). You?
