Today my family and I played tourist, starting with hiking Diamond Head, an inactive volcano and one-time military reservation. It also housed an air traffic control center until 2001.
Not too crowded, but everyone seemed to be there: babies, children, grandmas…oh, even some military men, and one who got tired after walking up the 99 stairs (second of three sets of stairs) and needed to stop to drink water! (Hey, they’re supposed to be tough).
We then ate lunch at Rainbow Drive Inn.
I changed up my order and tried the beef stew…so good! The meat and potatoes were soft, and the stew was tasty. Their macaroni salad is the bomb, though.
