LinkedIn makes me Sad Sometimes

I have a LinkedIn page. I don’t know why I started one but people said that it was a good idea to have one, well, sometimes it just makes me so sad and I wonder, “I haven’t done much, have I?” I didn’t receive awards in high school and college, I didn’t receive scholarships, and my work experience is, well, sub par.

Do all of these things really matter in the real world? Is anybody going to care that you were on the Dean’s List all four years of college, 15 years from now? How much of an impact on getting a job do the recommendations have? Do employers even check LinkedIn like they can/do with Facebook?

I know I shouldn’t compare myself, but seeing everyone’s “resumes” online makes me feel bad about myself sometimes.
